Biography
Piero Lissoni, together with Nicoletta Canesi, opened the studio Lissoni Associati in 1986; in 1996 Graph.x was established to develop graphic designs. The studio currently has around 70 persons working there on projects encompassing architecture and interior design, industrial and graphic design for products ranging from furnishings, accessories, kitchens, bathrooms to lighting and corporate identity through advertising, catalogues and websites for hotels, showrooms, trade fair stands, private homes, shops and yachts.
The studio designs for Alessi, Boffi, Cassina, Flos, Fritz Hansen, Glas, Kartell, Knoll, Lema, Living Divani, Matteograssi, Porro and Tecno. Recent architectural projects include Grand Hotel Billia in Saint Vincent (2013), Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam, (2012), Mamilla Hotel in Jerusalem (2009), Mitsui Garden Hotel in Tokyo (2005) and the restoration and interiors of Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal in Venice (2002-2004).
Piero Lissoni re-designed the well-known Teatro Nazionale in Milan (2009), completed the Living Divani headquarters in Anzano del Parco (2007), the Glas Italia (2010) and Matteograssi headquarters (2011) near Milan and the eight-storey Benetton Store in Istanbul (2009). Current projects include the Al Zorah resort in the Arab Emirates, the interior architecture of Shilla Stay Hotels in Korea and The Ritz-Carlton Residences complex in Miami Beach.
